This is something the best Real Estate agents in Roseville, Sacramento, and the rest of California should know. But just in case…
The real estate market in Roseville has taken a bit of a hit, as has the market everywhere. But still, sometime we need to sell, even in a down market. But how do you do it? Being lucky enough to find the best Roseville or Sacramento Realtor is one good way. But how do they get a multitude of showing in the first week or two after listing in a down market, when this year 51% of home sold in Roseville were previous foreclosures? Be prepared, do what the others aren’t.
Take a look at the picture from someone else’s point of view. Not as your house, but as someone walking into your house for the first time. It’s your home to you but turn it into a product in your own mind. Change the way you look at it, think like the buyer. By doing this you help yourself get prepared to make the house sell, and quickly.
Have you seen advertising for Home Staging? It may be worth the cost if you want to sell your home fast and get top dollar that the market will bear for it at the same time. You can do it yourself or hire a local professional Home Staging company to do it for you (there are a number of them in and around Roseville). If you do it yourself try and look at it from a buyer’s point of view. Do all of the small cosmetic fixes you can yourself. Little things like paint and yardwork go a long way (painting the front door Ralph Lauren Red, if it works with the rest of the color scheme, is an old staging trick). Try and get the home to look like no one lives there in the week or so leading up to putting it on the market. You want people coming into your house to look at it like they would a model home, not your home. They need to be able to see their things in the house, their pictures on the wall, their furniture, and most importantly them paying hundreds of thousands of dollars to live there for the next however many years.
Curb appeal is very important. Of course, there are many other methods to getting this done. My recommendation is a good Roseville-based Realtor. I know people try to save some money on commissions by going to For-Sale-By-Owner route but did you know 95% of those people end up hiring a Realtor after months on the market with no sale. Some even say offer a HIGHER commission when you list your property because it will draw more buyer’s agents to bring their clients to see your home, as opposed to the sellers offer the lower commission (I can see both side’s of that one). Of course if you would like a recommendation of a quality Realtor that specializes in your area let me know. I only work with the best of the best!
